How to play Mismatch District
Explore the whole city on foot or behind the wheel in this free open-world browser game. Central connects to Northside, Hill Park, Court Quarter, West Works, Freight Harbour and the South Waterfront. All seven neighbourhoods are open from the start. Free roam has no timer.
Open Jobs to choose either mission whenever you like. In The Last Pair, recover two randomly placed shoes and return to MISMATCH within four minutes. In After Hours, collect a crate at Freight Harbour, deliver to Corner Records, then the Hill Park pop-up within six minutes. The minimap follows your nearby streets. Coloured edge arrows and distances point to objectives outside it: M for MISMATCH, R/B for the shoes, and purple for the next delivery. Tap the map view button for the whole city. Stop briefly inside each delivery circle. The active purple circle protects you from police capture, including protection from vehicle shoves. Protection continues after the handover until you leave, followed by two seconds to get moving. Patrols pursue you while carrying a shoe or the crate. Completing or leaving a job returns you to free roam.
- On a phone or tablet
- When driving, use the left stick only to steer and hold ACCELERATE on the right to move. In a purple delivery circle, hold BRAKE to park; release it and press again to deliberately reverse. Outside delivery circles, keep holding after stopping to reverse. The pedals light up while held. On foot, drag the stick up to walk or diagonally to walk and turn, and hold SPRINT to run. Use ENTER CAR or EXIT CAR to switch.
- On a computer
- Use W/S or the up/down arrows to move, and A/D or the left/right arrows to turn. Press E to enter or exit a car, Shift to sprint or brake, and P or Escape to pause.
If you get stuck, Unstick moves you to a nearby clear road. During a job this costs five seconds; in free roam there is no time penalty. Getting caught during a mission costs twenty seconds, sends you back to the shop and resets the parcels or shoes. Your completion records and best times are saved on this device.

Do I need to download anything?
No. Mismatch District runs in your browser. Press Play to load the 3D game. A modern browser with WebGL support and an internet connection is needed.
Can I turn the music off?
Yes. Open Audio ♫ in the game to mute the soundtrack or change the music and effects volumes separately.
